In the past, control of locusts mainly relied on spraying chemical pesticides, but the use of large amounts of chemical pesticides would not only result in insecticide resistance, but also cause pollution to the environment, and would further aggravate the quality and safety hazards of agricultural products. Now people have begun to seek more environmentally friendly and effective methods of prevention and control. Natural enemies, ladybugs, are being increasingly applied to the control of aphids. Its proper use mainly includes the following aspects:
Release period
Yellow plate monitoring: The emergence of two aphids began to control.
Manual observation: After the crop is colonized, it is observed every day. Once aphids are found on the plants, it should be started.
Release quantity and times
It is recommended that the ladybug be released three times during the entire growing season of the crop.
Preventive release: Take greenhouses as an example. Each shed releases 100 eggs and about 2000 eggs each time.
Therapeutic release: According to the number of aphids to be determined, the ratio of ladybugs to aphids should generally be 1:30-60. The release of the aphid "central strain" should be the focus, and it should be released after 2 weeks.
Release method
Release the egg: In the evening or early morning, the ladybug egg card is hung near the locust-infested part so that the larvae can feed on the prey as soon as possible after hatching, and the hanging position should avoid direct sunlight.
Release larvae or adult worms: Open a plastic bottle containing adult ladybird larvae or larvae. Gently remove the adult larvae or larvae together with the medium, and spread them evenly on the leaves that are seriously damaged by the locusts.
Precautions
Each species of ladybug is very sensitive to insecticidal acaricides, and it is recommended to avoid the use of insecticidal acaricides within 15 days before and after the release of ladybugs.
The ladybug is a living commodity and the product should not be stored for a long period of time; it should be handled with care or released so as not to cause any human damage to the ladybug; it is prohibited to place the box on the ground when released to prevent damage caused by ants and human operations. Within 10 days after release, horticulture and farming operations should be reduced, reducing the amount of ladybug damage.
