Capsicum grafting is very knowledgeable

From the beginning of grafting, until the pepper seedlings begin to grow significantly, it will take about 10 days when the seedbed conditions are appropriate. If the temperature is too high, the air is dry, or the ventilation volume is too large, the scions will be susceptible to wilting, which will significantly reduce the survival rate of the grafted seedlings. Therefore, the environmental requirements for nursery beds at this stage are relatively strict. Specific requirements and management points are as follows:

The suitable temperature for the seedbed at this stage of the temperature is 25~30°C, and the maximum temperature does not exceed 32°C. If the temperature is too high, the pepper seedlings lose water faster and are more prone to wilting. When the temperature is high, shade nets should be used to shade the seedbed. During this period, if the temperature is low for a long time, the joint between the pepper seedlings and the rootstocks is slow, and the survival rate and seedling growth rate of the grafted seedlings are also low, generally requiring that the minimum temperature within the seedbed is not lower than 20°C. In order to ensure the temperature of the seedbed, the cold temperature is to be arranged in sunny weather, and it is also necessary to strengthen the warming and insulation of the seedbed.

Humidity at this stage requires relatively high humidity, especially after grafting for more than 90% after 3 days. Under suitable air humidity, the grafted seedlings are characterized by normal leaf development, bright leaf color, and water spouting before sunrise in the morning before and after noon. No wilting of leaves occurs. Generally, air drying will not occur within 3 days after grafting. If the phenomenon of drying occurs, watering between seedling rows should be performed in the morning or evening. Be careful not to spray water on the leaves to prevent sewage from flowing into the graft interface and causing interface rot. Usually from the 4th day, appropriate ventilation should be conducted to reduce the air humidity in the seedbed and prevent grafted seedlings from disease. When the seedbed ventilation is wilting, it is necessary to promptly close the shed film and when the wilting is serious, the grafted seedlings must be sprayed with foliar water. In the timing of ventilation, it is necessary to start sooner or later, gradually to noon, the grafted seedlings can be ventilated throughout the day without wilting. When the seedbed begins to be heavily ventilated, the seedlings and bracts are easy to dry, and they must be watered in time to keep the seedling soil dry.

During this stage of the lighting, scattered light is required. Direct light easily causes the grafted seedlings to be overheated, dehydration is accelerated, and wilting occurs. In terms of management, shading nets are used to shave the seedbed during the day to avoid direct sunlight on the seedbed. From the third day, it is necessary to gradually shorten the daylighting time of seedbeds, strengthen the light in the seedbeds, and prevent the grafted seedlings from causing the leaves to yellow, fall off, and induce diseases due to lack of light. In the first few days, the seedbed was first covered in shade, and then it was not shaded. If the light was suitable, then the grafted seedlings showed no wilting after shading and after removing the shading.

Grafting seedlings survived to the stage of colonization. The breeding environment was different from conventional breeding methods. The differences were as follows:

Weak seedlings need to be strengthened. When most of the grafted seedlings are transferred into vigorous growth, weak seedlings with poor growth in the seedbeds should be singled out and concentrated in a seedbed to continue to be given appropriate temperature, shading, and high humidity management to promote its growth.

Broken stems and roots of the seedlings by grafting, but also choose cloudy or sunny afternoon, with a blade to cut off the pepper stems and stems from the interface, so that the scion of pepper seedlings and rootstock completely symbiotic. A few days after breaking the stem, the grafted seedlings are susceptible to wilting and lodging, and the seedbed should be properly shaded. The grafted seedlings that have fallen down should be promptly supported by branches or clods, etc. Generally, they can be transferred to normal management after 1 week. The side shoots growing on the stems of rootstocks and the adventitious roots growing on the seedlings of the scion shall be erased at any time.

Do not remove the grafting clips and the grafting clips on the seedling grafts without removing them prematurely, and leave the protection interface. Generally, it is advisable to remove the seedlings after planting in the field and fixing the stents.
