? Diesel generator set parts cleaning method

In the repair of diesel generator sets, it is often necessary to clean the surface of the parts of the oil, carbon deposits, scale and rust. Due to the different nature of various soils, the method of removal is different.
(1) oil cleaning
When the oil deposit on the surface of the part is thick, it should be scraped off first. Generally, the surface oil of the parts should be cleaned in a hot cleaning solution. The common cleaning liquids are alkaline cleaning liquids and synthetic detergents. When using an alkaline cleaning solution for hot cleaning, heat to 70-90 ° C, immerse the parts for 10 to 15 minutes, then take out and rinse with clean water, then blow dry with compressed air.
Note: Cleaning with gasoline is not safe; aluminum parts cannot be cleaned in strong alkaline cleaning fluids; non-metallic rubber parts should be cleaned with alcohol or brake fluid.
(2) carbon removal
The removal of carbon deposits can be accomplished by a simple mechanical removal method, that is, removal with a metal brush or the like, but this method is not easy to remove the carbon deposits and is liable to damage the surface of the parts. It is quite good to use chemical methods to remove carbon deposits, that is, first use a decarburizing agent (chemical solution) to heat to 80 to 90 ° C, to soften the carbon on the parts, and then remove them with a brush or the like.
(3) Scale removal
The scale is generally removed by chemical removal, and the chemical solution for removing scale is added to the coolant. After the engine is operated for a certain period of time, the coolant is replaced. Common chemical solutions for removing scale include: caustic soda solution or hydrochloric acid solution, sodium fluoride hydrochloride detergent and phosphoric acid detergent. Phosphate detergent is suitable for removing scale on aluminum alloy parts.
