No pharmacy shall be allowed in underground buildings, and the “threshold” for starting pharmacies should be improved.

On the 28th, the newly revised Provisional Regulations for the Start-up of Beijing Drug Retail Enterprises was publicly solicited for opinions. The regulation intends to increase the “threshold” for the business sites of pharmaceutical retail companies. For example, pharmacies cannot be opened within floors 2 and above and underground buildings except for shopping malls. There should be no pollution sources within 25 meters of the perimeter of pharmacies and warehouses.

Old and new pharmacies must be over 350 meters apart

In the draft of this regulation, the establishment of pharmaceutical retail enterprises will have more stringent specifications. It proposes that in order to rationalize the distribution of drug retailers in the capital to facilitate the purchase of drugs by the public, the distance between the newly established drug retailer and the existing drug retailer must exceed 350 meters.

The regulations state that the retail establishments of drug retailers must not be less than 100 square meters, and that rural towns and villages should not be less than 60 square meters.

If the pharmacy business area contains Chinese Herbal Pieces, special areas should also be established to set up a relatively independent "Chinese Herbal Pieces Business Area" with an area of ​​no less than 30 square meters.

Refrigerant products must be equipped with refrigerators

At the same time, Beijing intends to specify the location of the drug retail company's business premises and its warehouses, and no pollution sources can be found within 25 meters. In addition to shopping malls, pharmaceutical retailers are not allowed to operate in floors 2 and above and in underground buildings.

In addition, pharmaceutical retail companies should be equipped with facilities and equipment that can effectively monitor, regulate and control temperature and humidity, and conduct indoor and outdoor air exchange, and store and display medicines under conditions that meet the requirements for drug storage. If a pharmacy operates a refrigerated drug, it should also have refrigerators, refrigerators and other cold storage facilities and equipment.

For chain companies that deal in pharmaceuticals, the regulations suggest that not only must each store's medicines be imported, sold, and stored be remotely queried, but inventory should be able to be queried and inventoryed in a timely manner. Pharmacy warehouses should be equipped with environmental monitoring functions for early warning of temperature and humidity changes.
