Large temperature difference in the early morning and late autumn, easily lead to colds, pneumonia and other diseases in young and young rabbits. Therefore, the feeding and management of the fall are very important.
1. Grab the work of autumn
In order to rejuvenate the rabbits as soon as possible, they are required to increase their nutrition, and they must be well-fed and prepared for the autumn season. The age of male rabbits is 7-8 months of age, and the female rabbit is more than 6 months of age. In the late fall season, female rabbits are mated to the peak period, and the fertility rate of mating can reach 70% to 80%. The average litter size is 5 to 7 per litter.
2. Grab a good mix of feed
In the fall, when the rabbits are in the period of hair replacement, the rabbits have poor appetite. Therefore, it is necessary to feed more green foods with better palatability. Formulated feeds should make full use of locally available and nutritious and inexpensive feed resources, especially protein feeds such as alfalfa hay (containing 20.1% crude protein), eucalyptus leaf powder (containing 19.3% crude protein) and Rumex hay ( Contains up to 31% crude protein) etc. Pay attention to feeding detoxicated, toxic and moldy feeds such as dewy grass and cotton leaves; control carrots and other high nitrite containing feeds
3. Do a good job of careful management
The temperature in autumn is unstable, and sometimes the temperature difference between morning and evening can reach 10-15°C. Colds, pneumonia, enteritis, and pasteurellosis must be prevented. In case of cool weather, doors and windows should be closed to prevent cold and keep warm. The rabbit house can be disinfected with 3% caustic soda or 10% lime water once a week. To clean up the excrement in time, keep the house clean and sanitary.
4. Handle feed reserve
As crops are harvested, sufficient amounts of winter feed, such as carrots, eucalyptus leaves, sweet potato vines, bean stalks, peanut vines, corn stalks, alfalfa hay, and husks should be promptly stocked.
5. Do a good job of disease prevention
In the autumn, rabbits, Pasteurella and Clostridium perfringens should be vaccinated. Rabbits over 2 months of age were injected subcutaneously with 1 ml each or with triple vaccine twice a year. For the prevention of coccidiosis outbreaks, anticoccidial drugs such as chlorpheniramine, globulin, and coccidia should be added to compound feeds.
