Japanese researchers have announced that they have successfully transplanted a spinach gene into a pig's body. This is the first time that humans have successfully transplanted a plant's genes into a large animal. The experiment was conducted by biologists at the National Institute of Biology in Japan. They injected a wave of vegetable genes into the sperm of a boar and transplanted it into the womb of the sow. The scientists involved in the study pointed out that because of the possibility of producing a fat-converting enzyme, the pig meat of this new type of pig is more nutritious than the traditional type of pork. Through this study, scientists also found that the content of unsaturated fatty acids in new pigs was 20% more than that of normal pigs. (early morning)
