Strawberry powdery mildew is one of the important diseases of strawberry. In the whole growth season of strawberry can occur, seedling disease caused by the quality of the seedlings decreased, difficult to survive after transplantation. As the disease progresses, the leaves curl up upwards in a spoon-like shape and produce dark stains of different sizes. Afterwards, the lesion gradually expands and the back of the leaves is generated. A thin layer of cream-like white powder, in which a number of lesions are connected together into a piece, can be covered with the entire leaf; late red-brown lesions, leaf margin atrophy, scorch. Flower buds, flowers infected, pink petals, buds can not be opened. If the fruit is infected, the young fruit cannot expand normally and is dry. If the victim suffers from later stages, the fruit surface is covered with a layer of white powder. As the disease progresses, the fruit loses its luster and hardens, and the coloration deteriorates, which seriously affects the quality of the berry and loses its commercial value.
Prevention measures include:
(1) Selection of disease-resistant varieties.
(2) After clearing the strawberry plants and all kinds of weeds in the clean shed or in the field, the plants shall be planted. The orchards shall be cleaned in winter and spring, the decayed stems and leaves shall be burned, and the diseased leaves shall be timely and concentratedly burned in the growing season.
(3) Proper close planting, strengthening the management of soil and fertigation, enhancing the growth of plants, and improving their resistance to diseases. Fruit farmers should not try to “stick†each other and avoid human transmission.
(4) Prevent partial application of nitrogen fertilizer, control leggy, pay attention to ventilation and prevent over-wetness after rain.
(5) The diseased vines and diseased fruits should be removed as soon as possible when the morning dew does not disappear, and they should be put in a convenient bag and burned or buried deeply.
(6) Chemical control: Grasp the prevention and control of drugs at the early stage of disease.
