Songyang Fragrant Tea Mechanized Production Regulations

Recently, Songyang County issued the first local standard for tea mechanization in the province, “Technical Specification for Songyang Fragrant Tea Mechanization” DB331124/T20-2014. The standard stipulates the requirements for the mechanized cultivation of tea plantations, tea garden management, pruning of harvested tea plantations, mechanical picking, mechanical processing, and mechanical safety.

In 2013, Songyang County had an area of ​​115,600 acres of tea gardens, tea production of 10,200 tons, output value of 905 million yuan, 4% of the province's tea plantation area, yielding 6% of the province's output, yielding 8% of the province's output value. With the continuous expansion of industrial scale, the contradiction between the shortage of labor force and the emergence of mechanized mining is an inevitable trend.

The issuance of this standard will effectively promote the mechanization of the tea industry, help ensure product consistency, achieve large-scale production, ease labor tensions, reduce costs and improve work efficiency, and is of great significance in promoting the transformation and upgrading of the tea industry in the county.
